PARTICULARS of the Office of Assistant Veterinary Surgeon now vacant
in the Colony of Hongkong.
1. Duties of Office, and qualific-
ations required for their performance.

3. Allowances, quarters and other circumstances affecting the value of the Office.
4. Nature, number and amount of
securities required, and mode of giving them.
5. Whether free passage is provid-
ed for the person selected and his family.
6. Acts, Laws or Ordinances,
making provision respecting any of the above matters, and especially respecting the permanency of the emoluments and the particulars of the security required, with refer- ences to the sections in which such provision is made.
Inspection of Meat and Food in Slaughter-houses, Markets and Factories. Inspection of Animals and control of Infectious Disease among animals, Member of Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Degree of Veterinary State Medicine. This latter may be dispensed with if applicant has served 2 years as a whole time Veterinary Inspector of Board of Agriculture, Local Authority or Colonial or Dominion Government. Unmarried.
Salary is payable in dollars in accordance with General Orders.
A deduction of 4% is made from the salaries of all officers as a contribution towards the pension of widows and orphans of public officem
Private practice is not allowed, Partially furnished rented quarters, if available. If quarters are supplied by Government a deduction of 6% (or 7% if heavy furniture is provided) will be made from the officer's salary. If Government quarters are not available the officer is eligible for a rent allowance in accordance with the conditions stated in General Orders.
To be appointed on a three years' agreement with the usual terms as to passages, etc., in accordance with Colonial Regulation 121.
